This is part of an ongoing effort to preserve our communities NFTs and metadata.

With @gen_dot_art winding down, we see it paramount that all 11,716 NFTs are secure.
So we created a fully decentralized copy of all NFT metadata, ready to use in place of the current API-based metadata to ensure all NFTs will last into the future.

Also, please note that in securing the 'Airdrop Collection' we converted all images from pngs to jpegs. This reduces the footprint on IPFS.
If you'd like to learn more about our recovery of https://t.co/NVOtIN5eS6's collections, see the launch of Preserve below where we dive in.

To us, a solution already exists. Rather than building a recovery process, let's just build better metadata.
On-chain metadata or even IPFS based metadata puts the power of metadata sustainment in the hands of the community. This sort of design is more transparent and robust.

For collection holders, is a resource available to you to search for your NFTs metadata via IPFS.
To the artists who made these amazing works, your work is safely stored.
We hope, at a baseline, this allows the collections to exist somewhere perpetually.

We first preserved all of the collections launched with the @gen_dot_art "drop collection".
But upon further examination of their contracts we discovered additional art: an "airdrop collection".
So we preserved this as well.
However, we still require action from @gen_dot_art .
